A Humble Request to All Social Media Users
Aamir Ahmad Malik
As exam results are being declared, I want to kindly appeal to everyone: please do not share anyone else’s results on social media—whether they passed or failed. While success is something to celebrate, we must also be sensitive to those who may not have achieved the outcome they hoped for.
For some students, failure or low scores are not just numbers—they can feel like personal defeats. Seeing others publicly share results, especially when tagged or named, can lead to shame, anxiety, or even depression. Not everyone has the same strength to deal with public comparison or judgment.
Remember, your intention might be harmless, but the impact on someone else could be severe. Mental health is fragile, especially for students under pressure. Let’s promote a culture of support, understanding, and empathy instead of one that pressures individuals to showcase their marks publicly.
Celebrate quietly. Comfort gently. And above all, respect everyone's privacy.
Sometimes, your silence and compassion can mean the world to someone struggling.
